I lived in the dorms for all four years so eating outside often was an excess expense. I've only been to this location once prior. This time I ordered a chicken burrito with the bacon and jalapeno queso, pinto beans, guac, sour cream, salsa verde, white rice, and cheese. It was enormous and very filling. Everything is getting a little pricey. The quantity definitely justifies the price (7.80). It would be nice to get chips and salsa for free on this order than a future order (as indicated on the receipt). Qdoba, like Chipotle, Baja Fresh, and other more "upscale" chains compared to Taco Bell present a healthier and heartier option when bored with the cheaper options. All in all, Qdoba is a place you should check out at any location if you're feeling a solid amount of Mexican food for a little on the pricier end.

Qdoba is always a great alternative when I'm not feeling like venturing to Chipotle. However, my experience yesterday at Qdoba was so unpleasant I'm not sure if I will be going back. Aside from the food, which was fine, the management was terrible. In particular there was a woman at the cash register who was extremely unapproachable and rude. She seemed very annoyed that you were in her presence and she did not want to help you. For me, it's not always about the food being served, it's the customer service and genuineness that really make or break my experience at an establishment.

I usually won't waste my time writing a review of a chain - unless it is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. This place is bad. And gets my 2nd one star review. In general, Qdoba is a nice alternative to traditional fast-food; the chicken is flavored well and most of the items are above average in quality and value. In particular, this location is nasty. Well, the people seem nice, but the restaurant itself is just filthy. I found it quite odd when, one day while noticing how much food was all over the floors and how gross the prep area appeared (e.g., brown guac), an employee remarked, "Wow, we've finally got this place cleaned up." And she was not joking - that was the epitome of how this place seems to be run. Personally, I have been sick each of the three times I've been here. Coincidence? Perhaps, but then I checked their health department records (just google ingham county environmental health and you can do the same). One of the more recent inspections (June 2011) uncovered 14 violations - 8 OF THEM CRITICAL!! Businesses that operate like this do not stay in business, unless of course, unknowing students continue to shell out their money just for the overall convenience of the location. All I say is be forewarned. I will not be returning under any circumstance.

Aces to the employees in this place. I had the ranch steak burrito and it was awsome. The veggies were fresh and the meat was plentiful. I also had the chips with warm three cheese sauce. Again, it met my expectations and the sauce was great. The chicken quesadilla with it's potato chip crisy shell was a winner. Now I need one that isn't 160 miles away from my home.

In my experience, it's better than Chipotle down the road, but can't come close to the awesomeness that was Big Ten Burrito (RIP btb!). Qdoba was a stone's throw away from my house on campus, so naturally I ended up here a few times during the school year. I enjoy their burritos, nachos, and gumbo. It's a little pricey, but the portions are usually big enough that you can share with a friend and both have enough to eat. The place is usually empty and I have always been waited on right away (usually before I even figure out what I want to order!).

Pretty good, sometimes a little crowded and slightly messed, but everyone is in a cheerful mood and the patrons tend to be a lively college bunch. Don't go to the one down the street in Okemos, they're pretty crabby and seem harried even though they are less crowded.

Qdoba is kinda like Subway's hispanic cousin. If you saw Subway on the street, and he's wearing a sombrero, you would probably go up to him and ask, "Hey subway, what's up with the hat?" "Yo soy Qdoba, hombre. Muchos gracias por nada." And he would make you a burrito of your choosing, and let you select meats, beans, and condiments, and let you watch him prepare it just like his Amigo Subway would. And you'd leave, and eat your poorly made burrito stuffed with way too much third-rate fillings, and get a stomachache. Is it terrible? No. But it ain't good either. Kinda like Subway, eh? If you add guacamole, es kostet mucho dinero. Or something - I studied Deutsch. $8 per person is about what this place costs. To be honest, it probably deserves 3 stars, but I hate to say "cue-DO-ba." What a stupid name.

I was trying to grab a burrito on my way back home. i stopped by the 1127 E grand river location not knowing that they close at 1:00AM. right when i walked in the employee RUDELY said "i'm closed get out NOW" I SWEAR she said it like that, i said "you don't have to be a D**k about it just tell me to leave" the other male employee looked at me and yelled "OUT NOW". i am not drunk, i am not on drugs i'm a normal person, just because i walked in wearing a jersey and a hat doesn't mean i have to be treated badly, i work at a restaurant myself and we do not treat people like that. just because i look foreign does not mean i have to be disrespected. further actions will be taken, i will contact my family Lawyer to see what i can do with this. i am very insulted, people were looking at me thinking i'm a beggar or something due to the way they treated me, this is very disrespectful.i always go eat there when i'm in the city and i have never been treated that bad. i got home and the first thing i did was look in the mirror to see if i look drunk or if i look like a homeless person trying to beg for food and i can guarantee yo\u this I DO NOT! when i asked her for her name she wouldnt give me it and they claimed they are all supervisors and they wont get in trouble regardless.

You can't go wrong with a classic Qdoba burrito. I keep coming back here and always get the same thing. The burrito easily weighs over 1lb and is very filling, but I wouldn't mind if it were a bit cheaper. The burritos are right on par with Chipotle's. The quality of meat is supposedly much better at Chipotle (it's Oprah endorsed), but I personally cannot tell any difference. The tortilla at Pancheros is better than both Qdoba and Chipotle. In the end, it comes down to what is more convenient to go to. Also, if you are a student at MSU, you qualify for a free drink with any purchase.

Food's ok, portions are big, price is borderline expensive. But, I think my uncle summed it up best when he shouted out of the blue, "All I want is a taco. Why is that so hard, Q-Fucking-Doba!?"

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
